Rod Stewart’s “Hot Legs”…what a stiff feeling rhythm.
Billyzoom1 · Sep 17, 2023 at 6:20 PM · Replies 51
I heard this song on the Sirius radio last week and I was struck by how stiff and non-swinging the rhythm guitar and groove is. It’s largely just basic 1, 4, 5, with the Chuck Berry rhythm but I would expect there would be a lot more groove and swagger to it, especially for a song that’s...

*RANT WARNING*

“Tone is in the fingers.” Ok, this drives me nuts. I gotta get this off my chest.

Here it is, put succinctly:

Style is “in the fingers”, not tone.

Guys are always posting crap about how EVH or Eric Johnson or whoever will sound like themselves no matter what they play...
Fender Nuts and Sweetwater Plek / Nut Replacement

First post.

I’ve noticed some high-end, expensive Fender and Fender Custom Shop signature guitars (i.e. both Eric Clapton guitars, Rory Gallagher, etc.) come with synthetic bone nuts (Melamine per an email to Fender) and was curious why bone isn’t used like on most other expensive Fender...

Praise & Worship Rigs/Pedalboards

As a long time P&W player I wanna chime in on helping give direction and description on this particular type of thread and P&W threads in general.

Most tones anyone could like will work for most general styles of P&W. Within the P&W style there are a handful...
No mini SD-1's ?

There are now mini versions of just about every variation of the tube screamer or klon. For some of us that prefer the SD-1, nothing in a mini format? I think it's one Boss' biggest sellers. I know the SD-1 is closer to the tube screamer than a klon-ish pedal, but I think there is just enough...

So I might be trying out for a blues band…
PatrickE_FenderADV · Sep 19, 2023 at 7:34 AM · Replies 14
I listened to a lot of Robert Cray and SRV back in the 80s and 90s. I loved Clapton’s From The Cradle and listened to it a ton. BUT… I never really tried to “play the blues” per se.

So beyond the blues scale (which I know) and learning some basic turnarounds, what would you focus on if you...

The Korn Ferry Tour came to my local course, and I can’t figure out what this is supposed to be. Also, watching non-guitarists hold guitars is always worth a laugh.IMG_0895.jpegIMG_0894.jpegIMG_0893.jpeg

Saw this on GC.com for $749. Description said that it had a slight buzz. When I plugged it in it had a loud buzz and there was something really wierd about the sound. I thought it sounded like the speakers were out of phase. Sure enough, they were wired wrong. Fixed that then started...
