As we learned from the highly educational movie Zoolander, hand models are a different kind of breed and impressionable upon consumers years later. And as it turns out, the catwalk of consumer psychology research over the past few years has proven that true.

Brands often use models to
create aspirational identity, highlight product benefits, create visual cues, and provide a form of social proof. But what makes modeling unique is that your product's potential gets a boost when it's showcased with a touchy-feely hand. Customers imagine their own hands reaching out and giving it a try, and that connection can make your brand as memorable as a 1973 Bulova watch catalogue.

That's the theory, at least. What's a fact is that it leads to increased positive perceptions of the product and a higher likelihood of purchasing it when posed naturally. And since we're all looking for a bump in that direction, we've gathered a ton of emails to learn from that showcase hand models at work.
