Really Good Emails

Email makers' favorite animals are dogs. We did a poll once. Scientific fact.

Ah, the dog days of summer, when the sun beats down like it's trying to turn us all into well-done impossible burgers. There's little respite in sight right now as cities around the globe continue to face dangerously high temperatures.

But there is something that gives us a happy reprieve from this hot-as-hell weekend, and that is International Dog Day. Physical reprieve? No. But from our poll a few weeks back, we know that dogs are the number one pick of email makers when it comes down to our favorite animals. And that's because psychologists have linked dog companionship to a decrease in stress levels, an increase in better health, and a number of gross tennis balls around the house.

Your loyal dog's goofy antics and tail-wagging enthusiasm can turn even the gloomiest day around. Similarly, sometimes that email from your favorite brand with a discount code or a hilarious meme can brighten your inbox and make you smile. Let's try to do more of that.

That's it for this week. How'd we do? Reply and let us know.

And while you are replying, tell us your favorite business event you've been to and why you liked it. We'll make sure to include it in next week's email we have been cooking up.

As for the last poll we did, the dessert of choice amongst the 213k readers of this weird email thing we send out is... chocolate cake with ice cream. It's definitely a safe choice that I wasn't expecting. Some of our favorites that weren't top votes were:

- Banoffee pie
- Tiramisu
- Peaches and cream
- Schneeballen
- Mango sticky rice

Hope you cuddle up with a good cold dessert and pal while thinking of email. See you next week!
